Baby on the Way

The V family Emailed me a couple of months ago with the news that they are expecting Baby #2. Mommy V's session date just happened to fall in April when the Bluebonnets are in full bloom.. Man - she was quite a trooper. At 8 1/2 months prego she didn't have a problem trekking out to the bluebonnet field amongst the weeds and the occasional fire ant pile ... We all decided it was all in the name of photography so it was ok ;-)

We forgot to tell 3 year old Lily that it was illegal to pick the bluebonnets and before we knew it, there she was with one in hand. Whelp - it was already done so I figured "Why not make the most of it and snap a quick picture"? Please don't call the police... She's 3 - and o' so darling :-)

R { Family }

Some of you know that I am a work-from-home recruiter who has not had a lot of work in that area lately. Well, things changed a couple of weeks ago when I was called back to work on a short - term project. I'm enjoying getting back in the Recruiting groove again but had been missing not having enough time for photography. That's why I jumped at the chance to take photos of the R family and their twin nephews/cousins. The bigger children were so great with the little ones and we even managed to capture of few with BIG Smiles on the twins' faces - with a little help from some hand puppets ;-)

I had the chance to photograph the girls in this picture a few months ago and the whole fam decided to get in on the action this time. Although A wasn't keen on the idea of opening her eyes for the pictures, we still managed to get a few photos of her beautiful baby blues.

40th Anniversary

Have you ever known a couple who have been married for 40 years with 3 grown children who are as in love today as the first day they met? This couple celebrated their 40th Anniversary today and I can honestly say they are among the sweetest, and most fun people I have ever had the pleasure to know. Will brings Jonnie flowers every week and has for 40 YEARS!! They are loving, respectful and as attentive to one another like newlyweds. I know this because they have been my next door neighbors for the last 2 years and I'd have to admit that my family got the better end of that deal;-) Thanks to Jonnie and Will for letting me be a part of your special day.. . Here's to the next 40!

I'M BACK!!

Can you believe it's almost February? A lot has been going on in the past month.. I've restructured some things and have been designing away -- mostly designing print products, but more recently, I re-designed my blog.. So welcome to the new and improved. Hope you like it. What better pics to break 'er in? These are my kiddos.. and no, they don't always get along this well. But there are moments like these when they are best buds and, luckily, we were able to capture them.

Whew.. What an amazing year!! I had no idea what to expect of the photographer's "busy season" since this was my first one. Wow - is all I can say. That was fun :-) Things have been so busy I haven't had a chance to post sneak peaks of my last several sessions, but here's a pic of my little one playing in the snow earlier this week - Notice the Oklahoma State shirt ;-) GO POKES! Thanks to all my amazing and wonderful clients for seeing me through my first year. I have some fun programs scheduled for 2010 so stay tuned!

Today I met with the L Family and their daughter Cocoa - a beautiful 2 yr old Chocolate Lab. Cocoa was very well behaved and I loved the way she perked her ears up when I called her name. Talk about one of the luckiest babies on the planet. This little baby has two of the sweetest siblings. They treat her like the princess that she is :-) Not to mention a loving mother and father whose eyes just beam when baby G cracks a smile. There's a lot of love in this family and I was so glad they braved the chill of the wind yesterday afternoon with me to capture a few shots in Downtown Prosper. Thanks R Fam!

Whelp - The T Family had quite a morning. Trying to get kiddos ready for picture taking is fun enough. This family had to drive several miles out of thier way to get to the session due to a major road closing that day and baby W was a non-stop mover after they arrived. That's why this playful shot of mom and son worked great.

Today was my first true newborn session and now I can see why so many photographers have a true love for photographing newborns. When Baby B fell asleep I was in photography heaven. Thanks T family for letting me spend the day with you and your precious baby girl. With parents like you, your daughter is one lucky gal! 'Looking forward to watching her grow up..

The P Family

This was my 3rd session with a member of the P Family and I'll have to say the best one yet. I don't know another child who loves the camera more than she (referring to a certain member of the P Family -- Amy, you know who I'm talking about ;-) .

Dallas Cutie

Today I had the pleasure of doing my first session in the big city of Dallas. It was a cloudy day, but baby "E", mom and I made the best of it and got some great shots. Olive (the pug) was feeling a bit left out, so he got to stick around for a couple of shots too;-)
