Memorial Day Weekend

The Boring family had a fun filled weekend in Oklahoma with the Stone, Carter and Newton fams - We went to a wedding - Congrats Randy and Ramie! We met a new family member- baby Jordan - as you can see from her radiating beauty she's definitely a Newton! We honored our country's brave soldiers by decorating at Welch's cemetery. And we still found time to do a little shopping and have some fun. Here are some pics from our trip. By the way - I grew up with Old Route 66 practically in our back yard, so when I found this new painting on the side of a building in my hometown of Catoosa, Ok, I just had to take a pic.

Fort Worth Zoo

For anyone who hasn't yet been to the Ft. Worth Zoo, I highly recommend it. They have some of the most awesome animal exhibits. We loaded up the fam yesterday and made the drive out there. Everyone else in DFW must have had the same idea cause it was PACKED! Because of the crowds I didn't get the best vantage points nor was I able to take time to really take a good picture, but I did get to try out that 70-300mm lens that I purchased a few weeks ago. It's not the sharpest, but I was able to get super close shots of things that I normally would not have. My kiddos' faves at the zoo were the otter and the gorillas. They got great front row seats to view the playful otter putting on a show for it's audience :-)

New Lens

Whelp - The day I've been waiting for... I got a new lens today and just HAD to test it out... I was able to hire a model at last minutes' notice - ('cost me a bag of Skittles) and we slipped on a spring dress and went for a drive. Here's what we came up with.

It's Spring Time in Texas!

Driving to the grocery store one morning, I came across these Texas Bluebonnets so of course I had to jump out and snap a couple of shots.
